The Finer Details

As you arrive at The Bolt Hole, you’ll park on the private road and step into a space that immediately feels peaceful, private and welcoming.

Downstairs, your living space combines the kitchen and lounge into one bright, beautifully put-together room that feels cosy and airy all at once. You can settle onto the sofa with a coffee from the welcome hamper, flick on the TV, plan the day ahead or simply pause for a moment and enjoy the calm. There’s also a downstairs WC, along with everything you need for an easy, comfortable stay.

Upstairs, the bedroom is where this little house really shows off. From here, the panoramic views stretch out across Hythe, the coastline and the sea beyond. On clear days, you may even catch sight of France in the distance. It’s the sort of view that makes slow mornings feel irresistible.

The shower is cleverly concealed behind the bed wall, creating a unique and stylish layout, and there’s also a dedicated workspace positioned to make the most of those far-reaching views — ideal if you’re mixing a little work with your getaway.

Outside, you have your own seating area where you can sit with a drink and take in the coastline, plus a private back garden that makes this a brilliant option if you’re travelling with your dog.

During your stay, you can also book time at the on-site Hythe Spa, where guests are able to reserve up to two hours per night stayed in the outdoor hot tub and sauna. It’s a wonderful way to end the day after exploring the beach or town. Spa use is subject to availability, so please book ahead if you’d like to secure your preferred slot.

A stunning location

Hythe

From The Bolt Hole, Hythe feels wonderfully easy to enjoy.

Perched above the town, you’re in a peaceful spot with panoramic views, yet just a short walk from the beach, the high street and the gentle charm that makes Hythe such a loved seaside escape. You can start your morning with coffee overlooking the coast, then wander down into town for independent shops, friendly cafés and long, unhurried lunches.

Hythe has that lovely balance of being lively enough to explore, yet calm enough to truly relax. You can stroll along the shingle beach, walk beside the Royal Military Canal, browse local boutiques or settle into a pub after a day by the sea. Guests often mention how easy it is to explore on foot from here — though the walk back up the hill certainly reminds you you’ve earned dessert.

This stretch of Kent coastline is full of things to do. Folkestone is just a short drive away if you fancy a wander around the Harbour Arm, creative quarter and seafront. Port Lympne Safari Park is also nearby for an unforgettable day out, and if you love golf, countryside walks or coastal drives, you’ll find plenty to fill your days.

For guests travelling to or from Europe, the location is especially convenient. The Eurotunnel is only minutes away, making The Bolt Hole an ideal overnight stop or a lovely way to break up a long journey with something far more memorable than a standard hotel.

Whether you’re here for sea air, romantic evenings, dog walks, spa time or simply a beautiful place to unwind, Hythe gives you the best of the Kent coast — relaxed, scenic and full of understated charm.
