Enter Poacher's End and you'll immediately be welcomed into a charming cottage full of warmth and character.
The entrance hallway provides space for coats, boots and outdoor gear before leading through to the living areas. The cosy lounge is beautifully styled, featuring comfortable sofas and armchairs arranged around a traditional log burner, creating the perfect place to gather after a day of exploring. Rich colours, warm lighting and original features give the room a wonderfully inviting atmosphere.
Just beyond the lounge is the dining room, where a generous dining table offers the ideal setting for family meals, board games and relaxed evenings together. The adjoining country kitchen is well equipped with everything required for your stay, including ample worktop space and modern appliances whilst retaining its traditional cottage character.
The property's iconic spiral staircase leads to the upper floor. While full of character, guests should note that the staircase is steep and narrow in places, typical of a traditional cottage and part of what makes Poacher's End so unique.

Things to Note
Two free parking spaces are available directly outside the property but only one of the two is usable by you and your guests (it can be either one). When the other space is occupied it is quite tight, so you may prefer to park in the ample free parking spaces at the bottom of the road, around 30 seconds walk, along the river, from the property, after having dropped off your luggage at the cottage.
The traditional spiral staircase is steep and narrow in places, typical of a character cottage and part of the unique charm that makes Poacher's End so memorable.
You’ll find everything you need to settle in and start your break straight away — from basic toiletries to tea and coffee, so you can enjoy a relaxing brew the moment you arrive.
If you’d like to stock up for your stay, you will find a One Stop Shop within short walking distance. The closest larger supermarket is a Co-Op, a few miles away in Kirkby Stephen.
Despite its peaceful countryside setting, Brough is easily accessible. Bus services operate from the village, connecting guests with nearby towns and transport hubs, while Kirkby Stephen railway station is just a short drive away. Positioned on the famous Settle-Carlisle line, it offers one of Britain's most spectacular rail journeys and convenient connections for those travelling from further afield.
